Hibiki LNG Terminal Achieves 50th LNG Reloading Milestone
-Supplying a Total of 200,000 Tons to 20 Companies Worldwide, Expanding Global Business Leveraging Geographical Advantage-
Saibu Gas Co., Ltd. ("Saibu Gas") and Hibiki LNG Co., Ltd. ("Hibiki LNG", together with "Saibu Gas” and "Hibiki LNG", hereinafter collectively referred to as the "Companies") have successfully completed the 50th LNG reloading operation at Hibiki LNG Terminal. This indelible milestone was marked by the GUCD (Gassing-Up and Cool-Down) services provided to Venture Global's LNG carrier, the 200,000m3-class "Venture Iberia" which was executed during 7th to 10th December, 2025.
Through these services, Saibu Gas has supplied LNG to domestic and international companies totalling 20 companies with aggregated amount totalling 200,000 tons of LNG and the Hibiki LNG Terminal is gradually heightening its presence as an international LNG logistic hub. Also, the relative companies held a commemorative ceremony at the terminal and presented a gift to Venture global in cherishing this auspicious occasion.
By leveraging the Hibiki terminal geographical advantages, proximity to East Asia and Southeast Asia where exponential growth of LNG demand are expected, the Companies have maintained the stable supply and the safety performance ever since 2017 when this service was commenced and have proven its track record to this day.
As a part of endeavoring to lowering/de-carbonization, Saibu Gas has initiated the group Mid Term Management Plan "ACT 2027" by augmenting the utilization of Hibiki LNG Terminal and consequently expanding the LNG marketing opportunity. Thus in order to meet the diverse needs in light of LNG demand growth internationally, Saibu Gas will do its utmost to expand the LNG terminal utilization related business into the future.
Saibu Gas will continue to strive to achieving the carbon neutral by 2050 one step at a time and will devote to contributing to the sustainable development of local communities and its clients and the customers.
*1 GUCD (Gassing-Up and Cool-Down) services: A service that supplies LNG to newly built or inspected LNG carriers, replacing inert gas in the tanks with natural gas and cooling them down to loading conditions.
*2 storage/reloading services: A service that unloads LNG at the Hibiki Terminal, stores it in the terminal’s tanks for a certain period, and then reloads it for shipment.
