Since 2014, Saibu Gas has operated the Hibiki LNG Terminal as a core hub for LNG handling and city gas supply, providing stable energy to approximately 1.1 million customers.
Equipped to accommodate the latest LNG carriers and reloading functions, the terminal supports global maritime needs.
Leveraging its expertise and strong safety record, Saibu Gas continues to expand terminal operations and facilities—including a new LNG tank and adjacent power plant—to strengthen its role as a key energy hub in East and Southeast Asia.

Initiatives for Safety at Hibiki LNG Terminal

The Hibiki LNG Terminal has introduced the following measures to ensure safety and business continuity
in the event of a natural disaster or other emergencies.

Training of Operators

We continuously train highly skilled operators through rigorous training programs. As a result, we have established a system that enables us to respond quickly to emergencies such as accidents and disasters.
Countermeasures Against Earthquakes and Tsunamis

Our terminal is equipped with earthquake-resistant and seismic isolation structures, as well as tsunami protection measures, including a 7-meter-high tide wall and coastal forest, to enhance resilience against major natural disasters such as a Nankai Trough earthquake.
Countermeasures Against Blackouts

The terminal is supplied by two independent commercial power feeds and is equipped with an emergency generator that also operates on city gas. This enables us to continue producing and supplying city gas in the event of a prolonged power outage.

Our terminal has passed the strict assessment conducted by several LNG companies, including international oil majors.

The Hibiki LNG Terminal is registered with OCIMF.

Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) is an international organization dedicated to improving the safety and reliability of maritime transportation of energy resources, including LNG (liquefied natural gas), in addition to crude oil and petroleum products.
The Hibiki LNG Terminal is registered with the OCIMF database and provides internationally standardized information to ensure compatibility with ships and safe and highly reliable cargo handling operations.
The Marine Terminal Particulars Questionnaire (MTPQ) and Marine Terminal Management and Self Assessment (MTMSA) of the Hibiki LNG Terminal can be checked by logging into the OCIMF database.
